? Quick Bites on the Go ? Goodnight Folks! Hope you had a good dinner. In case you're wondering what's on my plate, it's the much celebrated Beef Steak from Cafe Shillong with Sauted Veggies, Mashed Potatoes and the essential Crisp Bread. Coming in at around INR 400, this serving has a humongous portion size, mind you! I ordered the Steak rare and it was amazingly soft, tender and delicious. The cuts were very perfect and had almost half a pound of juicy meat, I guess. The mashed potatoes were very well cooked with a creamy delicate texture and I absolutely loved the Sauted Vegetables. Born and brought up in Kolkata I met Krishnandu in 2012. We fell in love and got married in 2016 and travelled to Bhutan for our honeymoon. We travelled throughout that year to various places and that is when I developed my passion for travelling. After our dream trip to Ladakh in 2018, I started noting down my travel experiences on a random basis. Krishnandu then urged me to pen down travel blogs. So I finally started scripting informative travel blogs that would help you to gain precise information about a destination.

    Very nice.
Are these cafes open air type or enclosed with air-conditioning ? Where else can I visit for sceneries (not for waterfalls, national parks or animals) beside Shillong ? Where is the nearest airport ?

Hi Stanley, There are multiple types of Cafes we have covered here. Few of them are Open AIr types and few of them are enclosed.

Except for Waterfalls, you may choose to explore Mawphlang, Mawlyngbna, Mawphanlur if you are looking for exploring the offbeat Meghalaya. Or you may choose to head over to David Scott Trail if you are interested in adventure. You may also choose to head over to Jaintia Hills for Dawki or Jowai region to experience the history and culture different from Khasi. You may also choose to explore Tura in Garo Hills which is a rarely explored region.

Although Shillong do have a Airport, but flights to Shillong tends to get cancelled every now and then. I’d recommend you to fly to Guwahati (in Assam) instead.

      Hope that helps 🙂
