The idea of exploring Sundarban, the other part of the nature was silently implanted in my mind long ago from updates in various travel forums that I follow. Finally the idea was nurtured by my friend-cum-philosopher-cum-(mis)guide Avik on a casual gathering at Dilip Da’s place. Avik is soon about to move out with his new assignment, and thus he placed this idea of having a tour together before he moves out. Avik being the only forest lover in our group, has always been neglected out while choosing destination, but not this time. Even we all were excited about exploring this...Read More
Well, to be precise, 2016 was nice for me both in terms of travelling and from other perspectives. As the year has come to end and we all are making a step towards another new year, I thought of drafting the trips I took up on 2016. Bhutan, February 2016 : The year started with getting married and taking a huge risk of planning a Familymoon to Bhutan. Bhutan was really beautiful and unique, and we fell in love with Bhutan. It was like a normal day at office. Me and my colleague (my senior actually), Dilip Da, went for a smoke as usual at our regular interval. It was already mid of November, but the cold breeze was still missing. Dilip Da being an ardent travel lover, our wavelength matches to a great extent. We always keep discussing about travelling. He was really anxious to go somewhere, as this Puja...Read More
Staying at Hee Gaon (Hee Patal) proved to be an unique experience for us. It was only after reaching there we understood, why Dipankar Da was constantly insisting us for staying there. Although we have been to Pelling, Hee and even Chaya Taal on our previous trip to South & West Sikkim, but then it was a touch & go type. Staying where was a unique charm which can’t be explained but only felt. This Trip Report is a continuation from Wandering Through Namchi – Ravangla – Yuksom. Below is the full itinerary again for your reference… Day 1...Read More
Though I have been to Ravangla before, for a touch & go sightseeing while going from Pelling to Borong on our last trip to South & West Sikkim. But I never thought I’d be coming here again, and that also for a night halt. I was completely un-aware about what Ravangla has to offer and I would have not ever known, if I wouldn’t have stayed here, or should I say if Dipankar Da didn’t insisted us on staying at Ravangla? We already had plans to explore Namchi too on our last visit to South & West Sikkim, but...Read More
